Wheat

CHORUS:
What good’s peanut butter
If you don’t have any bread?
Peanut butter, or what you choose
Around the world, we all need wheat
For bread, and cookies, and cake…

Well if you want you can be a farmer
This is what you do
You plant the spring wheat in the spring
And in the fall you get more wheat
For bread, and cookies, and cake…

Harvesting’s hard work but fun
In the coolness of the autumn sun
Those big machines look real mean
But they’re every farmer’s fondest dream.

At the mill the wheat needs cleaning
Then the kernels are opened up
They’re separated in three parts
The parts have names and they are
Endosperm, bran and germ.
Thank you kernels…

REPEAT CHORUS
